Icons
At the Parish of the Holy and Life Giving Cross we are blessed in having Icons that have been donated to us by former students. Such gifts reflect the joy that we have through the Communion of Saints. Many of our Icons have been written by Dimitrios Hakim who lives in London and who is a professional Iconographer worshipping at our Antiochian Cathedral of St. George. We have also been given Icons from Romania written by Georgiana Necula and Alina Dumitrescu of Ploiesti, both of whom have studied Iconography at University.
Fr. Jonathan also has a private collection of Icons in his home written by Archimandrite David (of blessed memory) from the Brotherhood of St. Seraphim of Sarov in Walsingham, Norfolk and by the well known British Iconographer Aidan Hart. These are also used in services at various times for veneration by the faithful at the Holy Liturgy.
A beautiful Epitaphion featuring the Dormition of the Mother of God was given by the family of Theodoros Papadopoulos (photo below).

We are grateful to God that in our formative years as a Community many of the essential requirements for worship were donated out of the generosity and benevolence of various individuals and families from Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria and Russia. Such Liturgical prerequisites for the worship of the Holy Trinity were gifts from people, too many to mention here, who are remembered by name at the Proskomede.
