Book translations
1. The Holy Cross Synodia was entrusted the holy task of translating the book of the life of St Joachim the Ithacan (1868✝) from Greek into English, which is now available in hard copy at the price of £5 (plus post and package).
2. Fr Jonathan has composed the life of St Lioba of Wimborne (c.782✝), a pre-schism Orthodox Saint, in a book which was also translated by the Holy Cross Synodia from English into Greek. This book is also available in hard copy in Greek at the price of £2 (plus post and package) and electronic copy (PDF) in English by donation.
All books were printed in Cyprus via a kind donation of the family of Panagiotis Ioulianou and the Church and printing company of the Transfiguration Centre in Nicosia, Cyprus. We hope that English and Greek speaking audience throughout the world will learn more of our Orthodox faith through the prayers of our St. Papoulakis (i.e. St. Joachim) and St. Lioba!

Books Published
Fr. Jonathan has written and published "Fountains in the Desert" (in English and Romanian) which is based on the sayings of St Antony the Great. Please contact us for orders (priced £7.50 plus postage & packaging).
We are very pleased that in November 2015, Εν Πλω published Fr. Jonathan's "Fountains in the Desert" book in Greek. We are thankful to Kleio Kehagia for the translation of the book from English to Greek. If you are in Greece please visit Εν Πλω's bookstores to buy the book or contact us for orders. All the proceedings from the book will help our Parish to cover the expenses of a permanent Church for worship. Also available is the story of Fr. Michael Harper's 48 year long ministry "Visited by God" told by Kh Jeanne Harper. The foreword to the book is written by Prof. David Frost, Principal of the Institute for Orthodox Christian Studies, Cambridge. Fr.Jonathan wrote the last chapter on Fr. Conştiinţa Ortodoxă
Fr Jonathan is an associate editor of "Conştiinţa Ortodoxă" which is a monthly magazine published in Ploiești serving the Prahova District of Romania. You can read previous issues of Conştiinţa Ortodoxă ; March, April and May.
Various spiritual work
Fr Jonathan has written articles and book reviews for various Orthodox Magazines including "Sobornost" and "Orthodox Outlook" and has also proof read books and articles including: Prof. Gheorghita Geana, Professor of Anthropology at the University of Bucharest: "Antropologia culturala", the Christian Orthodox Sisterhood Lydia Press Thessaloniki, "The Lady of Ro", as well as his spiritual father, of blessed memory, Archpriest Michael Harper "The True Light" and "A Faith Fulfilled". He has articles on Orthodox websites including: the Orthodox Research Institute; "The Voice of Orthodoxy"; the "Orthodox Outlet for Dogmatic Enquiries" and features in videos for the Institute of Orthodox Christian Studies (IOCS) in Cambridge.

Our Parishioners write articles for various magazines and newsletters in English, Greek, Romanian or other languages, for example :
- Panagiotis' article (in Greek) for the Greek Orthodox Christian magazine for the youth, named "Paremvoli". The article discusses the difficulties our Orthodox parish encounters in a country where Orthodoxy is not known and established.
- Evangelias' article on spiritual bread, published on The Stavronian and Cornerstone.
- Evangelias' recipe for prosphora, in English and Greek! The prayer for making prosphora can be downloaded by clicking here.
Lending library
The Parish of Holy Cross has a small lending Library of Orthodox Books. All parishioners are welcome to borrow these books!
Incense for sale
The Parish has small sachets of Organic Incense available for purchase: Rose, Byzantium, Frankincense, Carnation, Lemon and Russian priced at £2.00 per packet plus post and package (minimum 5 packets). Contact Fr. Jonathan for details.

The Holy Cross choir has recorded and uploaded the Orthodox Psalm (135) "O Give thanks unto the Lord" on youtube. Most photos come from our pilgrimage to St. Herbert's Island, Derwentwater, UK. St. Herbert is an important Orthodox Saint in the area.
